Ritlee 125 wood chipper:  ( 1x Bladed drum chipper )

  • First Manufacture in South Africa: 26 March, 2004 by Ritlee

    • This first year we sold 16 units in total. two of which were exported into Northern Africa.
    • Ritlee were the only manufacturers of wood chippers in South Africa till 2007 when the first copies and imports appeared here
    • The first locally made copy in 2007 was even the same color as the Ritlee Yellow and was also called 125 wood chipper.
  • Ritlee used the name Ritlee 125 wood chipper from day 1

  • Main problem:  When new, unit was precision balanced, then as blade was used and needed sharpening, sharpened more and more often, weight changed and threw out Drum balance.

Ritlee 225 wood chipper:   ( 2x Bladed drum chipper )

  • First Manufacture in South Africa: 08 January, 2008  by Ritlee

    • This first year we sold 45 2 bladed units in total.
    • Ritlee were the only manufacturers of wood chippers in South Africa till 2007 when the first copies and imports appeared here
    • The first locally made copy in 2007 was even the same color as the Ritlee Yellow and was also called 125 wood chipper.
      • This company manufactured a 2 bladed chipper drum in 2013, but still called it a 125.
  • Problem:  — this was totally sorted out with 2 blades where, when sharpening, both blades are done at same time, thus keeping balance 100%

Around 2011 a new seller in the wood chipper market started selling the copy 125 wood chipper and actually calling it a 225.

  • They have stated to people in the field that their unit is a 225–
