Aerobic compost comprises decomposing organic matter which uses microorganisms that require oxygen, which is found in the moisture surrounding organic matter. This compost creates the perfect nitrogen environment for healthy soil through a process of mineralization.

Compost is a mixture of decomposed material made up of rotting twigs, leaves, and other natural waste. It is great for enriching the soil and Ritlee has the perfect machine to help you make it.

How to make Aerobic Compost and the Tractor Mounted Compost Turner

Our Tractor Mounted Compost Turner creates compost that can be used by farmers and homeowners alike.

During the composting process, all present oxygen is used up by the microorganisms generating CO2, high temperatures and anaerobic conditions–

The roter action of the machine fluffs and breaks up all anaerobic clusters releases the CO2 and high temperatures replacing with ambient temperature and oxygen present fresh air, is designed in such a way that water can be introduced in a tidy, spill-free fashion.

This action once again creates ideal conditions for the composting process to carry on with its cycle once again—this, together with increasing massively the population of aerobic microbes and beneficial fungus!

It also breaks up the decomposing material to release and expel carbon dioxide. You are also easily able to remove stones and larger debris from the mixture as the rotating action moves this to the sides of the rows where they can be manually removed.

The Tractor Mounted Compost Turner is rotor mounted and designed with two hydraulically controlled lifting and lowering pistons. These are positioned in stable slides allowing for the adjustment of 50cm. The machine also has a full-width stabilizer bar to reduce vibration while turning. It is also designed in a way that you can easily use it on any undulating land and has no unnecessary counterweights for stability, but is perfectly balanced for a hassle-free composting experience.

Get in touch with one of our experienced sales team members to find out more information.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

Fertilizers can seriously interfere with the population growth of microbial content in your soil which is imperative for the health of your soil.

Compost rebuilds soil structure:

Higher yields – compost improves soil structure and fertility. It restores carbon and organic matter & improves erosion control. Compost also reduces disease and insect pressures. Overall, a crop’s yield potential increases.

Fertilizer substitution – compost contains crop-available nutrients.

Contains slow release of major crop nutrients including phosphate, potash, magnesium, and sulfur.

A useful input of sulfur to improve cereal and grain quality characteristics.

Compost is food for soil while fertilizer is food for plants.

Interesting Reading:

Customer reported that they produce and move around 950m3 minimal per month. (Average 2 M3 per ton) Pure compost–

Their market typically is cane/mac and pasture dressing, so yes 90 to 95% to farmers. The other 5% we bag and sell in “home gardener” size, and lawn dressing size bags (40kg)

This farmer uses our own product extensively for our open grazing paddocks with outstanding results –compared to countless chemically processed urea pellet applications and that is not sales pitch.

This fluffing and turning action of the rotor with its spatulas in the compost row:

Releases and expels Co2 in your compost row.

Allows surrounding air to mix in at the same time, this reducing temperatures and increasing Oxygen content again.

Breaks up and fluffs all or more of the anaerobic clusters in the compost row.

Mixes evenly water which may be applied while turning in a neat and clean way without messy runoff.

Stone contaminants which may be present end up on either side of the row while turning allowing laborers to pick these up and take them out of the way.

Good compost benefits your plants in numerous ways. Finished compost contains nitrogen, a vital nutrient for both plants and animals. Proteins, enzymes, DNA, and many other types of cellular or living structures contain nitrogen. During the process of decomposition, bacteria and fungi break down nitrogen-based compounds to make ammonium.

Microbes present in the soil take the ammonium and turn it into nitrite.

This then goes through yet another change to be turned to nitrate.

In the final phase of composting, nitrates turn to usable nitrogen, signaling that the compost is ready for use.

Poorly managed or under-aged compost does not make it through these four phases. Ammonium is produced in excess instead… This is due to not enough microbes being available to continue the process of nitrification. The accumulation of unconverted ammonium can mean imbalanced, non-useful compost that often features a foul odour.

Compost benefits plants when it is high in microbial and fungal content by putting ‘life’ back into your soils. Composting managed properly can achieve this in massive numbers with massive benefits!

Compost rebuilds soils and restores carbon and organic matter. Compost benefits plants by also improving erosion control, reducing disease and insect pressure and enhancing water infiltration as well as reducing compaction and improving nutrient retention. This promotes healthier plants reducing the need for chemicals and dramatically cut your costs paying for fertilizer whilst increasing your income.
